tenerife weather vanilla garden

The weather in Tenerife is a real privilege. During the summer season a mild weather prevails, while in winter the warmth is noticed as a moderate continuation of the summer. The sun shines here all year round and temperatures range from 17ºC in winter to 25ºC in the warmer months. Many are the aspects that intervene in this privileged weather of Tenerife and that make this island an ideal place to enjoy a holiday in the open air all year round.

Many are the guests of Vanilla Garden who check year after year the privileged weather of Tenerife. The weather is usually refreshed by the sea breeze and the trade winds, which are responsible for compensating for the long days of sunshine. In addition, the island’s own orography makes it possible to find very different climates in one area and another, the so-called “microclimates”. In this way, it will be possible to enjoy the green forests and high mountain landscapes and, on the same day, sunbathe and swim in any area of the island’s coastline.

AN ISLAND OF CONTRASTS

One of the most striking phenomena of Tenerife’s climate is that during the winter, pleasant and warm temperatures are maintained at any point along the coast. Meanwhile, it is possible to enjoy the beautiful views of the Teide landscape from your hammock on any beach in the south or from the swimming pool in your hotel. The south of the island, where Vanilla Garden is located, has more hours of sunshine per year, while in the north the climate varies significantly with more humidity. This creates different landscapes and shades worth admiring when it comes to getting to know the island.

One of the phenomena worth admiring is the sea of clouds. This is an impressive effect created by the trade winds, which push the clouds against the northern mountain slopes of the island creating the illusion of a calm and spongy sea.

There is no doubt that Tenerife can be enjoyed at any time of the year. With an average annual temperature of 23ºC, thanks to its ideal location near the Tropic of Cancer and the aforementioned trade winds. All this results in a pleasant and mild climate, which allows you to enjoy nature, sun, sea, gastronomy and the historical heritage of Tenerife 365 days a year.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING IN MY TRAVEL SUITCASE TO TENERIFE?

This privileged weather in Tenerife means that you should pack cool clothes to help you fight the temperatures at their highest peaks during the day, but also slightly less cool clothes for the hours when the sun goes down. You should not forget to your sunscreen because you risk burning your skin when exposed to the sun’s rays. For full protection, include sunglasses to protect the eyes and a hat to avoid direct exposure to the face and neck. All that’s left for you to do is to enjoy without worrying about the weather, because as we’ve been saying, it’s privileged!

All the places have a history and the one of our archipelago is very particular. Many will wonder why we celebrate the Canary Islands Day and here we leave you a few reasons.

This festival turns out to be special, not only for the historians but also for the inhabitants of the islands. And is that this holiday represents that longed desire of the Canaries to have greater representation and autonomy.

The 30 of May of 1983 was the first of the sessions of the Parliament of Canarias and was celebrated in Santa Cruz, the capital of Tenerife. This was the starting point to give greater voice and vote to the Canary Islands in the country.

Around this day there are endless activities to remember the devotion of the people for their islands, displaying flags and decorating balconies with flowers.

The children also become protagonists of the commemoration, dressing with their finest costumes of typical costumes and offering tastings of the most delicious dishes and wines of the islands.

The native flora and fauna are a primordial part of their exhibitions and highlight information of interest around the perfect climate of this paradise.

It is certainly a special day for all the canaries, but also for the thousands and thousands of tourists who visit us every year.

Thus our guests are well received, not only in our wonderful and unique beaches, leisure areas, hotels, parks and other tourist attractions. They are also invited to be part of the rich and varied culture of our archipelago.

Happy Canary Day!

The world of wine in Tenerife are in luck. Coinciding with the feast of St. Andrew, the wineries open their doors and give entry to new wine. If you like to discover the destination through its flavors and new experiences, this is an event.

To understand the history of the Canary wines would be interesting to start by visiting the Casa del Vino. An old farm seventeenth century, which houses a museum and a tasting area and a restaurant with views of Mount Teide prodigious.

Delve into the largest of the Canary Islands, where you can taste wines with Designation of Origin Tacoronte-Acentejo and Orotava Valley wine region. The fantastic thing about this region is that along its route will take contact with the heritage, nature and stunning landscapes of this area of the island. The ideal place to sample typical Canarian cuisine place.

Aim these cities within your route: Tacoronte Tegueste, El Sauzal, San Cristobal de la Laguna and La Orotava are some of the municipalities that can be found within this region. Here you will find everything from large wineries to smaller and family. No doubt this is a highly recommended option ecotourism and a different way to discover and experience Tenerife in a unique way.

A buffer zone with all the flavor of the history

A.O. Ycoden-Daute-Isora is located in the northwestern region of Tenerife and its wines are heirs of the ancient “Canary”, a wine made from overripe grapes Malvasia which was already appreciated by William Shakespeare or Giacomo Casanova, among many featured leaders of the history. Here you will find very aromatic white wines and rosé and fresh grapes flavored. Malvasia have sweet and sour notes. If you like more tropical flavors, try the rosé of this region. You will be amazed.

The AO at Tenerife South

In the region of Abona, in the south of Tenerife, white bodied wines are produced, but also fantastic red and rosé. The key to success of these wines is the sun and the volcanic soil that stimulate to growing excellent grapes.

The white wines are the star of the wine production of the AO “Valle de Güímar”, which are characterized by a fresh and fruity taste. Rosé wines are prized for their aroma of red fruits, while the reds are recognized for their earthy notes. Other varieties are sweet wine, with hints of honey; sparkling wines with very fine bubbles and persistent, slightly acidic crown; and sparkling wines with notes of dried fruits and slightly spicy.

Is not suggestive? November is a good time to discover the island and its stunning nature, interesting history and culture so personal and unique. Make it through their wines will help you to see Tenerife through new flavors that we are sure you will love them. Enjoy it!
